[Examples of Diffusion Bonding Applications] Examples of Three-Dimensional Structures

Samples with internal pressure applied to hollow joint components, and reactors that also have the function of heat exchangers!

We would like to introduce an example of a three-dimensional structure that our company has developed. The "inflation sample," which is a hollow component inflated under internal pressure, shows no leaks or fractures at the joint interface even after deformation. The "gas mixer" alternates two fluids at the outlet through microchannels. The "microreactor," composed of a reactor section and a heat exchange section, allows for individual temperature control of the fluids before and during mixing, thereby controlling the reactions of each fluid. Please feel free to contact us if you have any inquiries. 【Features】 <Inflation Sample> ■ A sample inflated under internal pressure in a hollow component ■ No leaks or fractures at the joint interface after deformation <Gas Mixer> ■ Alternates two fluids at the outlet through microchannels ■ Increases the contact area of the two fluids for efficient mixing *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Joining dissimilar metals improves quality and durability with measures against galvanic corrosion.

【Quality UP】The joints of dissimilar metals have improved durability with anti-electrolysis measures!

Electrolytic corrosion is a phenomenon that promotes rust and significantly impairs durability. When assembling different metals, it is important to be cautious of electrolytic corrosion. If no countermeasures are taken, rust will occur on the contact surfaces more quickly than usual, and the greater the potential difference between the different metals, the more likely electrolytic corrosion is to be promoted. In the assembly of sheet metal, typical combinations include "aluminum + iron," "aluminum + stainless steel," and "iron + aluminum." Applying paint or surface treatment to the materials is one common and cost-effective countermeasure. 【Countermeasures】 ■ Insert insulating material at the contact points ■ Apply paint or surface treatment to the materials ■ Change to a non-conductive material *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

"Proposal of a new joining method using Many-Holds as an example" *Technical documentation available!

Miniaturization and cost reduction of metal hollow components! Layered structure makes it easy to form curves and multiple flow paths!

We propose the manufacturing of hollow components using "brazing" technology, which makes it easy to join dissimilar metals through laminated joining of plates. Since the joining occurs at a temperature lower than the melting point of the base material, there is less distortion due to thermal effects, and complex flow path structures with good airtightness can be created easily and at low cost. 【Features】 - No need for horizontal hole cutting, allowing for free design of flow path positions and shapes - Curved and complex flow paths that cannot be realized with a monolithic structure can be created - Overall downsizing is possible - Various cost reduction effects can be expected, and it can accommodate increased lot sizes *Not limited to three-dimensional flow paths, we can manufacture various metal joining components. Please feel free to consult us. 【Topics】 We have recently succeeded in trial diffusion bonding of Hastelloy plates, which are corrosion-resistant materials. - Diffusion bonding prototype sample: Hastelloy C-276 material Three plates with an outer diameter of φ20mm and thicknesses of 0.5mm + 0.1mm + 0.5mm were joined using solid-phase diffusion without filler material. *We are currently seeking applications. Procurement and processing of Hastelloy plates are also possible. We will respond to plate thickness and size inquiries upon consultation.

Internal flow path diffusion bonding (ceramics, quartz glass, pure molybdenum)

Through diffusion bonding, complex shapes with internal flow paths can be realized! We are currently offering a collection of bonding case studies featuring materials such as quartz glass and pure molybdenum!

Diffusion bonding is a technology that directly joins materials together. Since it does not use adhesives or filler materials, contamination issues due to impurities do not occur. Additionally, it can suppress the occurrence of plastic deformation. By using diffusion bonding, it is possible to create hollow structures, internal flow paths, and deep holes with good straightness that cannot be achieved with conventional machining. We have a helium leak tester, so leak testing can also be conducted. 【Materials with Diffusion Bonding Achievements】 - Alumina - Aluminum nitride - Quartz glass - Silicon - SiSiC composite material - Pure molybdenum - Pure nickel We are also developing other materials. We are distributing a collection of processing examples using bonding, so please take a look. Shapes that were previously difficult to achieve may be possible by combining diffusion bonding with machining. If you have such parts, please feel free to contact Top Seiko. *The "Company Profile" was updated in December 2022. Please download it along with the "Bonding Processing Example Collection" from the link below.
